The Moment You've All Been Waiting For

A number of readers have commented on the fact that I have never posted any pictures of myself on V for Victory!.  Some of you are curious to put a face to the name and the scribblings.  Apparently, nobody is prepared to believe that the profile pic in the sidebar -- the simian at the typewriter -- is really me.  I must confess I find this gratifying.

I am pleased to announce that after four and a half years in the blogosphere, I have decided to lift the moratorium on self-portraits and satisfy the curiosity of my loyal readers.
So:

Here I am...

...this is me...

...your loyal correspondent...

...[insert drum roll here]...

...[and trumpet fanfare]...

...[curtain rising]...

...in 1971.

  1. Deeeear Anita, I have to admit that in 1971 you were cuter than I was in 1946. You may give me one "Neener, neener!"

  2. LOL! I was eight months old in this picture. Can you believe it: I, who can barely remember what I had for breakfast this morning, actually remember the taking of this photograph. Why? Because I was less than happy to be up in that tree. But if you look closely, you can see my grandfather behind me, holding me up.

  3. Thank you, thank you. You will have to take my word for it that I've been cute ever since!

  4. Very very cute!

You're the first person I've 'met' who remembers far back longer than I can!

My parents were amazed that I remembered my grandparents home, details about carpeting and rooms, from before I was 2 years old. No photos of the interior are available.

You're wearing your hair in that photo just the same as I used to fix my youngest's hair. Her slightly older sister called it a 'choo choo puff'. Too cute!
