Merry Christmas!

Gerard van Honthorst, Adoration of the Shepherds (1622).  Do you think St. Joseph would be using that ox's head as a handrest if he were not so gloriously preoccupied?

By the way...

BEEN TO MASS YET???

  1. Yes! In fact in the Midtown Manhattan Parish, where Archbishop Fulton J Sheen used to preach his Good Friday Sermons, the Mass of The Ordinary Rite, utilizes Gregorian Chant, with Parts of The Mass chanted in Latin, which is my current experience. It attracts Families and Young People, much more so than any of the "Liturgical Innovative Errors" of The Past several years. In praying the Agnus Dei in Latin, in Gregorian Chant, as well as The Kyrie in Greek along with the Communion Antiphon being chanted in Latin, with the Occasional singing of The Sanctus in Latin, I feel more at Home with the Current Rite of The Mass, than I ever did. I'm NOT comfortable with so-called Contemporary Liturgy, where it's Personality Centred. I'm NO Fan of "Folk" Masses, as you can infer by my writing here. It was a Beautifully Done Mass. Being able to kneel at the Altar Rail to receive The Eucharist, makes one feel truly Catholic. This is The Gist of my latest Post.

    Happy Christmastide:
